Why preparers join Signed & Filed.
Clients here pick their preparer. That means your experience, your credentials and your work are what bring them to you.

Clients choose you by name.
You get a profile with your credential and the returns you do most. Clients read it and book you.

Clients see the fee before they book, so you never have to negotiate at the desk.
Training and a coach.
You learn our software, intake and review process before your first return, with someone to ask during the season.
Software and e-file provided.
Professional tax software, e-filing and a secure client portal for documents are set up for you.
Training first. Then the credentials that grow your practice.

Clients trust that every Signed & Filed preparer meets the same standard. It’s published on our website and on your profile.
- A current Preparer Tax Identification Number (PTIN). The IRS requires one before you prepare returns for pay.
- Your credential checked at the source, if you hold one: the IRS directory for enrolled agents and AFSP participants, the state board for CPAs.
- Completion of Signed & Filed Preparer Training, and continuing education every year.
- You sign every return you prepare, with your own name and PTIN.
- You follow our posted price list and never charge a fee based on a client’s refund.

Straight answers.
Do I need tax experience?
Experienced preparers join after the credential check. Newer preparers complete our training first. Details of any review or mentoring period will be confirmed before launch.
How am I paid?
Your compensation is explained in writing before you join. It is never based on the size of a client's refund.
Does Signed & Filed make me an Enrolled Agent or a CPA?
No. Those paths are coming soon, and even then we help you prepare. The IRS grants the Enrolled Agent credential after you pass the exam, and your state board of accountancy grants the CPA license. Our certificate of completion is our own.
Do I sign the returns I prepare?
Yes. Every paid preparer must sign the return they prepare and include their PTIN. That's the promise in our name.
Is this part-time or full-time?
Seasonal, part-time and full-time options, and scheduling, will be confirmed before launch.
Apply to prepare with Signed & Filed.
Takes about two minutes. Once applications open, we’ll follow up to set up a conversation.
